Les projets de loi peuvent \u00eatre pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s dans l&#039;une ou l&#039;autre des chambres, \u00e0 l&#039;exception des projets de loi sur les recettes, qui doivent \u00eatre pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s \u00e0 la Chambre.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Examen du comit\u00e9 :<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apr\u00e8s son introduction, le projet de loi est renvoy\u00e9 \u00e0 une ou plusieurs commissions comp\u00e9tentes sur le sujet du projet de loi. Les commissions tiennent des audiences, des s\u00e9ances de r\u00e9vision et des d\u00e9bats pour examiner le projet de loi, recueillir des informations et proposer des amendements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Si le comit\u00e9 approuve le projet de loi, il est soumis \u00e0 l&#039;examen de la Chambre pl\u00e9ni\u00e8re. Les membres ont la possibilit\u00e9 de proposer des amendements, de d\u00e9battre du bien-fond\u00e9 du projet de loi et de voter son adoption.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00c0 la Chambre des repr\u00e9sentants, c&#039;est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement la Commission du r\u00e8glement qui d\u00e9finit les modalit\u00e9s du d\u00e9bat et d\u00e9termine les amendements qui peuvent \u00eatre examin\u00e9s. Au S\u00e9nat, le d\u00e9bat est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement moins structur\u00e9 et les membres ont plus de libert\u00e9 pour proposer des amendements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Voter:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apr\u00e8s d\u00e9bat et amendements \u00e9ventuels, le projet de loi est soumis au vote de la chambre qui l&#039;a \u00e9mis. Une majorit\u00e9 simple est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement requise pour son adoption, m\u00eame si des r\u00e8gles sp\u00e9ciales peuvent s&#039;appliquer dans certains cas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Comit\u00e9 de conf\u00e9rence (le cas \u00e9ch\u00e9ant) :<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Si la Chambre et le S\u00e9nat adoptent des versions diff\u00e9rentes d&#039;un m\u00eame projet de loi, un comit\u00e9 de conf\u00e9rence peut \u00eatre convoqu\u00e9 pour concilier les diff\u00e9rences entre les deux versions. Le comit\u00e9 de conf\u00e9rence, compos\u00e9 de membres des deux chambres, travaille \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9laboration d&#039;un projet de loi de compromis qui peut \u00eatre approuv\u00e9 par les deux chambres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Approbation et action pr\u00e9sidentielle :<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Une fois que les deux chambres se sont mises d&#039;accord sur la version finale du projet de loi, celui-ci est envoy\u00e9 au Pr\u00e9sident pour approbation. Si le Pr\u00e9sident signe le projet de loi, il devient loi.
